So this is the very first castle in Denmark that I have visited since I got here last May. Unfortunately, during the time of our visit, they didn’t allow visitors to enter the palace, mainly because I think we got there a little bit late (lol). Anyway, if you are traveling from Kobenhavn Lufthavn (Copenhagen airport), you can take the train ØR 1437 to Helsingør Station and it will take around 2 stops to get to the Central Station aka Kobenhavn H. Once there, transfer to an S-train (usually they are the red ones) and take the LINE A going to Hillerød Station which will take up to 15 stops. Lastly, take the bus 91N to Helsingør St. which will take up to 11 stops until it arrives to Fredensborg, Jernbanegade.
I believe there are many other possible routes, some may even be easier from the one I gave. You can download Rejseplanen app to your phone and just type in your location and your destination so you can choose what type of public transpiration you might want to use.
I regret to say that I don’t have photos inside the palace but only from the outside.
They did have a very nice backyard by the way. But to help alleviate the disappointment of this trip, here is the view of the sunset at Lake Esrum near the palace. Isn’t it amazing?
